What’s going on?

Hello there! I thought I would just check in and let you know whats going on in the world of Tea with Jud.

Since February I have been taking part in a Creative Accelerator Programme 2 days a week which focuses on helping creative businesses develop. Meet the Maker coincided well with the course as I have been forced to think about topics I don’t usually think about! I am going to apply some new approaches to my business in the hope it will help me run Tea with Jud more efficiently, therefore allowing me more time to rest. Everyone knows being self employed is more than 24/7! I feel I have been working so so hard since January, even harder at the minute as all my practical work has been crammed into 5 days a week whilst I complete the course. I know this won’t last forever but it feels like work is taking over my life and I am very conscious of how tiring it is. I really don’t want to burn myself out and lose enthusiasm for a job that I love.

So, I have nearly made all my pots for Potfest at the start of June, I just need to have massive glaze-a-thon now. I am also making stock for some shops (they are all waiting very patiently) and I REALLY need to restock the website! I know there are lots of things out of stock but I will restock it as soon as I can. Thank you so so much to everyone who has bought some pottery from it recently. I sent some pots off to Slovenia and Zambia last week! Amazing!!! It just blows my mind!

On top of all this, I am also doing another Challenge. As if i need anything else to do!! It was born out of Meet the Maker when I admitted my most difficult make was a Teapot. A fellow Potter on Instagram, penni.q.pottery suggested a Teapot Challenge. The purpose is to try and improve our confidence in our teapot making skills. It is a 6 month project and we will both reveal our Teapots on 1st of each month on Instagram. I will most likely write a blog about it in October once the challenge is complete!

I think that’s it for now! Thanks again for all your continued support. I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Cheerio,
jud
