Can you think of a better way to warm up after an exciting day on the mountain? You could sip some tea from one of my mugs at apres ski! ** IMPORTANT NOTE** These mugs are also suitable for hot chocolate and gluehwhein. Mmmm…
Have fun on the slopes, and ski safe. No accidents please!
It’s been a while! I bet you were wondering where I was!? Do not worry, I am still here! There are two reasons why i’ve been quiet this month…
1. I was enjoying doing nothing over Christmas and New Year. I never realized how good it is to properly switch off. I’m going to do it more often.
2. On my return back to Scotland, Albert’s dog shampoo burst in my bag and destroyed my camera so it has taken me this long to get the pictures off it! I thought it wouldn’t be fair to post anything until i had some enticing pictures to show you!
So, here is a selection of pots that were top secret before Christmas. **warning** there are a lot of egg cups.
Now I’m back and settled into a good routine I’m getting excited to see what lies ahead for Tea with Jud this year. I have applied for some new markets, so I’ll hopefully be out and about as usual, brightening up a table somewhere. Keep an eye on my Diary to see where I’ll be!
Over the next few months I’ll be restocking all my outlets and adding a few new ones too. I’ll keep you up to date with everything Tea with Jud related. Until then, cheerio!
You may have noticed I have not posted anything in a while, that is because I have been TOO busy, which is great, but I am definitely in need of a rest now!
So I just wanted to say thank you for all your support again this year; repeat customers, new customers and stockists. You are all contributing to my dreams coming true.
My workshop will be closed until the beginning of January, so any urgent pottery needs will have to wait! Until then I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and healthy and Happy New Year!
With the festive season approaching, as a self employed lady, the madness actually began a few months ago! I’ve technically been living in my workshop since September, layered in thermals and working very long hours! I’ve been making lots of new commissions, and masses of stock. So, if you are near any of these shops YOU are in luck as… Manchester Bee Company, John Muir Trust, Honest Thistle, Sunshine no:1, The Craft Shop, Popping Up in Stockbridge are all now fully restocked.
The Craft Room in Comber will be getting their shop delivery next week!
As well as this I also have 2 new stockists – Braemar Gallery in Aberdeenshire, and also The Makers Gallery & Bistro in Alloa. Very exciting! My pottery is spreading! Wooo!
Unfortunately if you have not already placed an order for Christmas I can’t guarantee it will be ready in time. However, you still have the chance to find me at 5 markets before 22nd December – this weekend I will be at Pitlochry Christmas Festival on Saturday 3rd and Morningside Makers Market on Sunday 4th. For the rest, please check out my Diary page.
I am still working away on lots of TOP SECRET commissions, you never know, it might even be something for you, but as you can’t see them until after Christmas I thought you might like to see some pieces I’ve made so far throughout the year.
My kiln broke last week … eeek, not again! It’s ok now though, only a little bit of stress, panic and ruined work, but hooray I was so lucky to get it fixed on Monday, so all back to normal, but i’m a LITTLE bit behind. grr…

I taught another espresso mug workshop during the summer. I thought you might like to see the outcome.
Each person brought their own creativity to the project and I think the results are brilliant! I love seeing what other people come up with.
This Monday I am teaching another workshop at Kirkmichael Session House, Perthshire. If you live locally and are interested getting your hands dirty, there a few places still available. You could make someone the perfect Christmas present!
Please contact Petrina Mensies on 01250 881770 to book your place.
Just in case you are wondering… things don’t happen by accident here at Tea with Jud. There is a lot of experimenting, testing, making and re- making, disasters that end up in the bin, and plenty of new additions to the seconds pile!
My ideas usually start off from me thinking “What do I need?” or when I do need something I think, “Could I just make that myself?”. I do like decorative and sculptural pieces but as my business focuses on function, practical designs are a must!
I’ve been experimenting with many ideas since I started my business. Here are a few I’ve been working on this year. The finished piece is usually not how I imagined it to be, sometimes it is better, sometimes it is worse, so it takes patience and time to develop the shape, size and glaze but hopefully some of these will eventually make it to part of my ever expanding pottery range.
I usually have an experiment of some sort in the kiln so i’m looking forward to see what comes out tomorrow – I’ve been testing some PINK! I’m very excited about this.
